Your turn! (It's a contest!)

***Edited to add 2 other ways to enter--I knew I was forgetting something!***

Alright, my friends, I have doled out my share of honesty this week.  I have given you more insight into my life/adoption journey, I have admitted to being a giant procrastinator, and yesterday I let you all see that I tend to be a bit insecure.  That's about as transparent as I can be in 5 days' time.

So now it's your turn.  Share your confessions with me.  I have done this once before with "Mommy Confessions", but now it's just general stuff, whatever you want to confess.  It can be AA-style ("Hi, my name is Katy and I'm a confess-aholic."), it can be serious ("I would wave my magic wand and make Roo a 'typical' kid in an instant if I could."), it can be funny ("I took my eyes off my 1-year-old yesterday for TWO SECONDS and found him eating toilet paper."), it can be... well, let's keep it to things that won't be held against you in a court of law, 'k?

And why should you share your confessions for me and the two other people who read this all the world to see?  Well, because misery loves company for one.  Oh, and if that's not enough, there's a $25 Kohl's gift card and a $10 Starbucks gift card in it for 2 lucky posters!

Here are the rules:
  • Score 1 entry for each comment you leave with a confession
  • Score 1 entry for sharing Diary of a Zookeeper on Facebook, Twitter, or other social sites (Leave a comment each time you share the blog--limit 1 time a day)
  • Get 1 additional entry for becoming a follower of Diary of a Zookeeper (Leave a comment--if you're already a follower, you can leave a comment as well)
  • Get 1 additional entry if you "like" Diary of a Zookeeper on Facebook (Leave a comment--again, you can also leave a comment if you already "like" us on Facebook)  Posting on my wall would be appreciated but is not required.  :-)
  • And just for kicks, you can earn an additional entry for each $5 you contribute to the Mozambique Mission using the ChipIn link on the right.  (Leave a comment for each $5--every comment will be 1 entry)
  • The contest will end at 11:59 PM on Wednesday, May 3.  I will use random.org to pick winners and post them on Thursday.
So let's hear it!  :-)

Awesome! I love to confess! Let's see (there's just so much to choose from:)...

Every few weeks in the summer, I announce that I'm going to cook something on the grill. Then, with great fanfare, I pretend I can't figure the dang thing out, all because I want my husband to be the one responsible for cooking sometimes.

Ooooo, that felt good. How many times can I do this?! :)

My name is Sue and I let my kids play outside without shoes... Even in the snow. And I let them iceskate on Frozen puddles in bare feet. They're boys and I've got to pick my battles... If my mom knew hehe

I love it! Tara, you can leave as many confessions as you want! Each one is an entry! :-)

CIC some days I leave my house a complete disaster and then right before I know my husband is going to be home I clean as fast as I can so that he doesn't know I didn't do anything all day! :) I'm sure he wouldn't care, but it's easier to pull the "do you know how busy I've been today" card if the house is picked up!

OH MY GOSH, Wren, I thought I was the only one who did that!!! OK, I have to stop commenting on these so I don't completely mess up random.org when it picks the winners! :-)

Such a great idea! Ok, hmmm... This is Brittany,I want another baby! We have four kids & everyone thinks we are crazy already, but I want more!!! I want my house filled, noisy and choatic with children everywhere. My husband is on the verge of a heartache trying to "help" (and I use that word loosely) raise the ones we have and he couldn't imagine having anymore. My mother in laws face turns into a look of death if I even joke about it. I WANT MORE CHILDREN! Man, that felt good...

Now, for my confession...

I have a very, very difficult time telling others no. My plate runs over, because I'm too over involved in things. Right now, I want to run and hide because too much is going on, but I really feel like I'll be letting someone down if I do. Then, when I feel this way, I feel guilty.

One day last week I was having a hard time getting the baby to take her nap. After the screaming and rocking, when she was finally asleep, I realized that I had completely forgotten to feed her. Oops.

My guilty confession is that I hate putting clothes away after I wash them... so they usually just sit in the laundry basket and every morning, I dig thru to find something to wear! Hey, at least the clothes are clean!! lol

(((katy))) i love transparency in motherhood. yesterday i wanted to quit. the 7 yr old gave the 9 yr old a bloody nose, the 4 yr old bit (broke the skin) the 7 yr old. i yelled, screamed and then had a beer.

I followed you today

LOL I followed you with my husband's account! I'm a dork that way. I know nothing about computers....but that is not my confession. My confession is that today I sent my 9 year old to school sick knowing I will pick her up soon because 1. I hope she forgets she is puking and makes it through the day and 2. because I need to get some things done this morning and she would complicate things.

I shared you on facebook too...

And....I liked you too....

There have been a couple times in the last few months when I sent my 4 year old to preschool in the afternoon forgetting to feed him lunch. I felt horrible but luckily they do get a snack. I am hoping it is pregnancy brain and it will get better after I have this baby.

One more commment, My 6 yr old and 4 yr old are practically the same size so there are times when I take their clothes off at the end of the day and the other one wears it the next day. This saves on laundry and clean up.

I confess that I was so excited when Nathan finally had an interest in tv so that I could have a few moments to get something done. In fact, I just turned on his favorite, Dave and the Giant Pickle, so that I could spend a few minutes on here!

You may have more followers than you thought :) I read your blog, but haven't "fanned" it or commented. I think you are very brave and strong, though.

My confession...I don't remember/am too lazy to brush my daughter's hair every morning. I leave detangler and a brush in the car and brush it whenever we arrive anywhere. If we have no where to go, she looks a mess all day :( Terrible, I know. I do brush it after her shower...but that isn't everyday. Confession #2, I guess...

Shared you on Facebook. I forgot people from my church were wanting to know your where your blog was anyways so I'm glad you created a page.

Okay, I am a follower here and on FB. My confessions...

1) Peanut thinks that we only change out of our pajamas if we're leaving the house.

2) I want another daughter.

3. I hardly ever brush my kids' teeth and I threaten them with NOT being "allowed" to brush them if they're not being good.

I'm addicted to double stuffed oreos!! I can't get enough of them.

One more confession (since my DH won't see this, lol): When I drop my son off at Mother's day out instead of coming home and cleaning the house I'll straighten things up and then take a nap. Mommas gotta catch up on sleep sometime, right? :)

I shared your blog on facebook. :)

I'm not a morning person in fact I'm just the opposite. While other mom's have special PJ days we frequently stay in ours and getting dressed is a special occasion. If I ask the kids to get dressed they ask if we are going somewhere.

Our 5th child baby puts everything in her mouth so I let her chew on tissues.

I'm Lisa and I confess my husband does the cooking.

The house is chaotic, and I'm tired most the time, but I'd love to have more kids, even twins.
