I would put the girls to bed an hour early when Dan would have soccer games (2 or 3 times a week). So I could have time to myself to read or watch TV, no usually watch TV or talk on the phone. I never changed the clock they just learned not to argue with me. Laura is in 3rd grade so she has been reading the clock for years. It has been hard to do this year because Laura has swim team on 1 of the soccer nights. :-(Stephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17568241741111402622noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2296867968408174746.post-41222277780457436552011-01-27T14:29:41.469-05:002011-01-27T14:29:41.469-05:00about my car one - pretty sure I used to leave the...about my car one - pretty sure I used to leave the keys in the ignition - remember the turn signals and radio going. Between Word World and Super Why, he knows them all, and not because his mother has a Master's degree in reading and literacy ;)
-I love Wednesdays so much...because it's grilled cheese day at Hannahs school and I don't have to pack a lunch!
-There are times when Zach just has to fuss for an extra minute while I round up a drink/snack/the phone/my ipod before I settle in to nurse him.
-Andrew can't pass the golden arches without yelling "chee-burger!!" He's been able to eat a whole McDouble for almost a year. We try not to stop too often, but I guess it's often enough that his 2-year-old self knows what's there and asks for it!Megannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2296867968408174746.post-68001859420931393232011-01-26T13:46:21.251-05:002011-01-26T13:46:21.251-05:00Cathy... change the clocks! ;-)Cathy... change the clocks! ;-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03309625075040251483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2296867968408174746.post-11252603090419470082011-01-26T13:21:29.993-05:002011-01-26T13:21:29.993-05:00On nights that I am really tired I will tell my ki...On nights that I am really tired I will tell my kids it is time for bed 1/2 hour before it is their bed time. I feel guilty that Levi (at 20 months) knows and frequently requests "WHY!" (SuperWhy), but a 1/2 hour here and there won't hurt him. At least this is what I tell myself.

~Many days I don't shower or brush my teeth till naptime so I can take an uninterrupted amount of time for me. Selfish, maybe. Necessary? Most days, oh yes.

~I will also put Levi (and sometimes Seth) down early for a nap or bed even if he's not being bad or tired simply because I am ready for it to be nap or bed time. I've never done this more than 30 minutes before either, though, so maybe that's not so bad? ;)

Love you! Seeing your PBS confession made me think of a recent one, though. I needed to shovel part of the driveway before it got dark. I put on "Curious George" for my 2.5yo, put the 4-month-old on the play mat next to him, and told him to come to the door and get me if she started to cry. I could partly see them through the bay window, but not exactly a "mommy-of-the-year" move.Scott and Debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15396033588527177407noreply@blogger.com
